Word form error
Sometimes you reach for exactly the right word family but grab the wrong member of it — a noun where the sentence needs a verb, an adjective where it needs an adverb. The idea is correct; the shape is wrong. Our mainframes flag this as #LR7 whenever a word's part of speech doesn't fit its slot, and in IELTS Writing Task 2 it counts against Lexical Resource every single time.
Each item shows, in parentheses, the base word — right idea, wrong part of speech. Type the form the sentence actually needs: noun, verb, adjective, or adverb.
Exam result
Step 1 Ask what job the gap does: naming a thing (noun), an action (verb), describing a noun (adjective), or describing a verb (adverb).
Step 2 Learn a word's whole family together — decide, decision, decisive, decisively — not just the one form you first met.
Step 3 Watch the endings: -ly (adverb), -tion/-ment/-ness (noun), -ful/-ive/-ic (adjective), im-/il-/ir-/dis- (negative).
