practice / IELTS Writing Task 2 / Grammatical Range & Accuracy
#GR1
Every sentence has an error
This isn't one grammar rule — it's what happens when several small ones go unchecked at once. Our mainframes flag #GR1 when a sentence's error rate is so high that almost nothing gets through clean, and in IELTS Writing Task 2 it counts against Grammatical Range & Accuracy every single time.
Each item has exactly one error. Fix only what's in the gap — a word, a form, or a punctuation mark. The category tells you where to look; the last two sections don't.
Exam result
Step 1 Read one sentence at a time — never the whole paragraph at once.
Step 2 Assume it has an error. Your job is to find it, not to confirm it's clean.
Step 3 Check article, verb form, preposition, and punctuation, in that order, before moving to the next sentence.
In your next essay, do one dedicated pass — sentence by sentence, assuming each one is guilty until proven innocent — and watch this error's count drop in your writing passport.
